Led Spot Lights just make total sense from a off-roaders point of view.

  • There’s less maintenance
  • They’re Tough and reliable (the good ones anyway)
  • They perform well against all other options
  • The bars have a much smaller size / flow impact when on your bull bar

… and with the prices taking a tumble are just so affordable.

Now before you ‘yeah but…’ yes they don’t give the distance of other options, yes they are so bright you can get glare from aerials and sign’s but when it all comes down to it we’re talking millimetres not miles in comparison — it’s pretty level.

.. and the low maintenance, reliability, low voltage win for me.  But that will never stop the debates from raging on.

This is not a post about why I decided to buy Leds, but more why I decided to buy my Led Light Bar From Tida Lighting.

Google Led Light Bars and you’ll soon discover that there are a TON of people out there pushing light bars.  From the cheapies on eBay, right through to some crazy priced versions attached to some premium brands.  When I realised I’d wasted a good few hours searching around I decided to talk to a mate who’d made the transition and absolutely loved his, I was referred to Tida.

I decided to drop them an email to see what their deal was and fascinated to discover that the owner of the company is actually an ex-sparky who does a lot of industrial work and LED stuff in houses.  He’s of course driving around in a kitted out Hilux too. He took the time to talk me through the difference between the quality of Leds and the overall construction of the kits.  He really knew his stuff and shared some scary stories of the volatility in the production quality in his last tour of China.

I decided to order the 41.5 inch Light Bar.  Sure it wasn’t the cheapest out there but what was running through my mind was:

  • I’m about to buy lighting, I’d much prefer to do that from a lighting specialist.
  • As a bonus he’s a 4×4 guy too.
  • I have a phone number and an address so if something did go wrong I could get in touch.
  • It has a three year warranty that I’m pretty sure won’t be needed, but I actually could use.
  • They took the time to listen to what I wanted and recommend the right product.

Ticking the usual boxes, shipping was fast, and arrived well packaged and all working.

I have to admit, when I put the bar on, it felt a bit ‘weird’, but once I got used to it, I don’t think I could ever go back.

Nice work Tida and I’ll report back in a few years and let you all know if they are still working.
