One of the most enjoyable aspects of off roading is getting your pride and joy absolutely covered in mud. Sitting nice and clean in your truck whilst mud flies left and right is guaranteed to excite even the most conservative individuals. As your confidence grows, the depth of the mud and the size of the puddles seem to get bigger. Then before you know it you’re competing with a truck that cost you three times as much as you planned… but the adrenalin, well, is worth it. Whilst its difficult to describe exactly what the feeling is like, I thought I’d show a collection of videos that give you a snippet into the world of 4X4 Mudding.

Personally, I love the hummer. It’s a car where going way over the top with just about every attribute is a given, a car with a clear ‘look at me’ factor, and a car that breaks free from trend that’s seeing just about every new car these days looking the bloody same…
Unfortunately there are too many people like me (without the cash to buy one), who love them, and not enough people who’ve got the folding bills who enjoy the bulk of this tarmac monster.

We know it’s coming, but a full production hybrid 4X4 may be a little closer than we think. Citroen have announce a hybrid 4X4 called the Hypnos (yep I can see the advertising campaign now).
Citroen has unveiled a hybrid 4×4 at the Paris motor show called Hypnos. Stats being claimed are millage in the region of 60mpg, with a 0-60mph time of 9 seconds flat. Read more »

The NSW RTA have released a discussion paper proposing that 4wd vehicles be forced all to carry, and if required, wear chains in snowfields across NSW. Initial re-actions to the proposal seem quiet.
